Picture from the summer

On a complete tangent - I've just been having a clear out of my photos and found this of us at Chessington in the summer which I don't think many people, if any have seen, so I thought I'd share it for peoples amusement!

This was one hell of a scary ride - it was a roller coaster that didn't just go up down, but also rotated - definitely the worst one I've been on!

Bathroom getting there

Still haven't done a huge amount to the house, but we have finally got a floor down in the bathroom courtesy of my friend Chris - just needs the cladding round the toilet sorted out and it should be there.

Survived the first week!

Just started my second week of contracting and am so far am absolutely loving it - although I still can't quite get my head round the fact that I could be dinged out within a week - I know I probably won't be, but it just seems to be a different way of working

With a full time job you do seem to work at slightly below your peak and it can be easy to get de-motivated sometimes whereas with contracting it seems as though you know you always have to be at your best and motivation is never a problem.

It's certainly a more exciting way to live, but whether I'll be able to get use to the insecurity is another thing.

New Job

Have handed in my notice today - decided to have a go at going freelance which basically means lots more money, but lots more risk and no holiday or sick pay, but I'm hoping it will be worth it, and the company I've got my first contract with has a good record of keeping on contractors for a long time so hopefully I'll be ok, but have to say it is a bit dauting in some ways but time for a change.
